How to Defeat Satan

Revelation tells us about a time in the future when Satan will be cast out of heaven, never having access to the throne of God to accuse the saints before Him. He will be cast to the earth with his demons to torment the earth for half of the great tribulation time. Even though Satan has great power John assures us that he will be defeated by the believers during that time. (Revelation12:11) They had 3 keys to defeating the devil that we all need to know and to do, so we can defeat Satan every day, too.

The primary way that Satan is brought down and made powerless to harm us is by the blood of the Lamb. Jesus defeated Satan when He died on the Cross and rose again the third day. Yes, Satan is still active in our world, and he still causes much harm, but he has no power over the saints who have been washed by the blood of Jesus, been born again by the Spirit. That is the essential starting point. We will never defeat him, unless we truly know Christ as our personal  Lord and Savior. Next, Satan is defeated every day when we share our bold word of witness that Jesus is Lord of all and Savior for those who trust Him. He can do nothing to make that testimony lose its power, and he has to flee when believers resist him, turning to God. Try it, and you'll see the power of this bold witness. Finally, Satan is defeated when believers do not love ourselves, but we love Jesus so much we are willing to die for Him. Then, Satan can't scare us into being disobedient to Jesus. We know that whatever happens, we are secure in His hands. If we die, we go to heaven to be with Him, which is far better than being in this world. The Word of God guarantees our victory over Satan, if we do these three things. I pray all of us will live in victory!
