The Effects of an Evil Life

Many people want to live their own way, but they are not willing to face the consequences. They think they will be happy and all will go well, even though they go against God's way. That never happens because God loves us, and He wants us to see our sin and the damage it brings. He wants us to turn from the evil ways, so He can have a close relationship with us and give us, joy and peace. Many people do not listen to Him. Jeremiah told us the results of not listening to God. (Jeremiah 4:18) I urge all of us to hear this verse, even if it does not apply to us. It might be what we need to share with someone else for their good.

We bring many of our sorrows and pains on ourselves by the way we live. Life is choices and decisions. When we make the wrong choices, we bring all kinds of trouble on ourselves. God shows us that we are going the wrong way, but we have to decide to listen and repent, so that we go the right way, instead. If we don't, we will have a bitter taste in our mouths about life. We will think there is no hope, no way to be happy and fulfilled. Of course, that is wrong, but that is what we think. Also, we will have a pain piercing our heart. That pain is God's love trying to show us we need Him. It is His deterrent to sin. I pray we will all listen to God, have a sweet taste in our mouths and a joyful heart. That is how God designed life.
