Isaiah's Simple Prayer

I love to find prayers in the Bible. They are special, since God inspired them to be written down. We know they express the way we should pray. I believe we can use them for our guide to pray. We should not pray the exact same words, thinking that God will answer us because of that. We should make the prayer our own and pray it from our heart. I was excited to find a simple prayer from Isaiah, the Prophet. (Isaiah 33:2) I believe it is just right for us when we are having hard times like Isaiah and the people of Israel were having. Let's see what he said and what we can learn.

We all need God to treat us kindly, because we have all messed up by sinning in various ways. We need to go to Him and cast ourselves upon His mercy and grace. We need to confess that He is our only hope. We must really mean it, but when we do, God realizes how serious we are  and how humble we are before Him. This always gets His attention and touches His heart. We need to pray for Him to be there for us first thing in the morning, and we need to seek Him faithfully every morning before we do other things. This shows our dependence on Him. Finally, we need to ask God to help us out when things go bad. We should ask Him in advance, then make sure He is the first One we seek when something does go wrong. I would say that prayer covers everything we need to ask God about the basics every day. Of course, we have other specific requests, but this prayer sets the stage for all we need to say to God very well.
