Truth that Drowns Out Enemy Talk
Satan and the enemies of God who follow him are not hard to defeat. They have no defense for truth. God's truth will defeat them every time. It will drown out the enemy talk, and it will even silence the atheist babble. This powerful truth is not just known by scholars and intellectuals, but it is even comes from the mouths of children. (Psalm 8:2) What a Mighty God we serve, Who places His truth on our hearts from birth. Let's consider this lesson for a minute.
I have always heard people say "from the mouths of babes," but I never realized what this means like I do after reading this verse in the Message translation. The Hebrew literally says "from the mouth of infants and nursing babes" God has established strength. The word strength is the word for bulwark, and a bulwark is a fort which is unable to be overrun by the enemy. God inspired David to let us know that any of us can defeat our enemies, Satan and anyone who stands against God. It doesn't take special knowledge. We simply have to receive the truth God has planted in every human being, and we have to speak it and live by it. No, this does not mean that we do not need the Bible. On the contrary, it means when we add the Bible truth to what He has placed in our hearts, we are invincible, if we will stand against the devil and his forces of evil. Please, don't live a defeated life. Don't cower to the devil. Stand up and confess God's truth, resist Satan, and he will flee. (Matthew 16:18) I hope this gives us some new inspiration to stand up for the Lord.
