Straight to the Arms of God
Where are we to run during these evil times in which we live? Many believers try all sorts of things for them and their families, but nothing is as effective as running straight to the arms of God. We have that privilege, since He is our Loving Father. We should run there and stay there, as David did, when he was faced with so many challenges from his enemies. Why try to go anywhere else to escape the arrows of the wicked aimed at the hearts that are open to God? (Psalm 11:1,2) Let's take a moment to relax and realize our security in the Lord.
There are all types of word pictures in the Bible to show us how God is there for our protection. He is our bulwark or fortress. We can run into His care, and we are safe from the enemies. Jesus told the people of Jerusalem that He would have gathered them under His wings like a mother hen gathers her chicks to protect them, but they would not come. What a sad thought! God's wings or arms being opened to gather us in, but we won't go. We want to try to flee from evil ourselves. Let's not make that mistake. Let's decide to run straight to God's arms and stay there, close to Him. From that place of security we are not only safe, but His strength is there to see us through any battles we face. Yes, let's run straight to the arms of God every morning and stay there all day long.
