Unity and Love
Believers have a huge responsibility. We are to live out our relationship with Christ and share the truth of the gospel, so the world will come to know that Jesus is Lord of all. This is a great struggle for us, if we do not follow what our Lord showed us and told us. We can have all of the programs and methods of sharing we want to develop, and we will not be successful. God's way is the only way it will happen. In Christ's prayer before going to the cross, He told us plainly what must happen to show the world That He was the Messiah sent from God, the Father. (John 17:23) It is imperative for us to hear what He said and do it, or the world will be lost forever.
God was in Christ, and He was in His disciples. The goal of His presence being in them, as the Father was in Him, was to produce a supernatural unity. This world is chaotic, and people are torn apart by all kinds of things. it is very rare to see unity in a large group of people. When people see unity, they know they are seeing something special, and they are drawn to know how it happened. Also, this unity must flow from the love of God. The love He has for His Son, Jesus, and the love, He has for us, His children. When the world sees the unity and the love of God together, they will have the evidence they need to trust Jesus as the One and Only Lord and Savior. Therefore, we must love the Lord and love each other, so we will be completely unified. Then, when we share the truth of the gospel many will listen and be saved.
