God's Consistency

God is always consistent in His character and His actions. This makes it easier for us to trust Him all of the time. We know we can count on God when we see how He has acted in the past. When Israel sinned against God, He sent the Assyrians to destroy Samaria and to take the 10 northern tribes into exile. Later, He had Babylon destroy Assyria, and the people were able to return to their land. Then, when Judah was unfaithful, God sent Babylon to destroy Jerusalem and to take the people into exile for 70 years. Then, He brought the Medes and the Persians to destroy Babylon and allow the people of Judah to return to the land. When He restored His people, they were satisfied by the bounties of the land He provided for them. (Jeremiah 50:18,19)  God is consistent in punishment for the wicked and in blessing His children.

What is going on in your life right now? Are you living in a time of faithfulness, so that you are enjoying God's blessings? Maybe, you are in a time of rebellion and He is punishing you. You may even be in a time of exile from the ones and the things you love, because of your sin. I want us all to know that there is hope with the Lord.  If we know the Lord Jesus, He will not leave us in exile. Our punishment will not go on forever. Just like Israel was restored in the Old Testament, God will restore us at the right time and in the right way. Then, as we are faithful to Him, we will be satisfied by the good things He gives us. In fact, things will be even better than we thought they would ever be in our times of punishment and exile. Please, trust in the Lord ,because of His consistency.
