A Prayer Promise

This year we have been focusing in on a lot of the promises in God's Word. Remember, if we know the promises and adjust our life to trust in God's promises, He can and will do great things in our life. Our promise today is a prayer promise. There are many promises about prayer in the Bible, but this one is very special. We have heard it many times, but have we really heard it well. Jeremiah gave us God's promise that if we call to Him, He will answer, and tell us great and incomprehensible things we do not know. (Jeremiah 33:3) What a fabulous promise for all believers. I pray it is a reality in your life.

Prayer starts with a heart willing to call out to God. We must show God our dependence on Him. When we go to Him for an answer, He will answer us. He might say no, but He will answer. Sometimes, He says yes, but at other times, He says wait. The reason for the three answers is that prayer is more about us being ready than God being ready to answer. We must be ready to receive great things. Our heart must be open to incomprehensible things. In fact, we may need to hear those things about us, more than we need something else. Whatever God's answer, it is what we need, and He will grant it when we are ready and in His perfect timing. I pray that each of us believes this promise and practices it every day. I pray that we do not only talk to God, but we talk with God, so that we listen to His great and incomprehensible things. Then, we will truly see the wonders of God come to reality in our life.
