Having Our Desires Satisfied

Can you say that all of your desires are satisfied? If not, why are they not satisfied? I believe that is a fundamental question for all of us. We all have desires of all kinds. We all want to see those desires satisfied well. We spend a lot of time and effort longing for that goal to be reached and working toward that outcome. However, many time are desires are not met, or they are not satisfied fully. Why is that the case? I believe David came to understand the solution to this dilemma. (Psalm 145:16) Let's see what the Lord showed him and how it applies to all of us.

God is able to satisfy all of our desires. When He opens His hand, He can and will satisfy the desires of every living thing, if the desires are according to His will. Of course, God does not satisfy our sinful desires. He would not be showing love to us, if He did that. He would be hurting us. That means we should go to the Lord with our desires and ask Him if they are godly desires if our desires are according to His will or not. If our desires are not according to His will, we should ask Him to take them away, and to meet that desire in the right way. Then, we should depend on Him to meet every desire in His will, in His way, and in His timing. When we do that we will be completely satisfied in the best way possible. God can send another person to help fulfill our desires, but we need to leave it up to God as to how He satisfies our desires. He knows best, and we can always trust Him to do the right thing for us to make us more like Jesus and have the best possible life.
