Fulfilling God's Purpose for Us

What is your purpose in life? I hope all of us have grappled with that question. Nothing could be more miserable than to live a life without purpose. It makes our life meaningless, and we are a prisoner to aimlessness. God never intended for anyone to be without purpose in life. In fact, God has a purpose for each and every one of us. David knew that truth, and  it caused Him to call out to God. (Psalm 57:2) This should teach us to do the same thing. His purpose is always the best for us, because He loves us so.

To fulfill God's purpose for our life we have to start at the beginning. We have to trust Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. That is what God wants for every person. (I Timothy 2:4) Once we come to know Christ we have the ability to communicate with the Lord directly and to hear Him as He directs us. (John 10:27) Soon, we become aware that God's purpose for every believer is that we become like Jesus. (Romans 8:29) However, since we are all unique creations of God, each one of us becomes like Jesus in our own way. That is where finding God's ultimate purpose for our lives comes in. God has a plan and purpose for each believer. (Ephesians 2:10) He has given each of us gifts of the Spirit to use to accomplish His purpose. (I Corinthians 12:7-11) As we grow to be like Jesus, and we call out to God, He will show us our gifts and guide us to His purpose for us. However, we have to cooperate with His Spirit. He will always fulfill His purpose for us, as David says, if we will follow Him. He will show us our responsibilities and give us the power to do them, as we trust in Him and stay close to Him. When we fulfill His purpose for us, we experience life at its fullest.#nhbaptistdotorg

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 59-61.
