A Remarkable Blessing
God gave Moses a blessing to have Aaron and his sons pronounce upon the people of Israel. (Numbers 6:24-26) It is really a prayer for them, and it is an excellent prayer. We all need everything that God included in this prayer. I hope we will take a few minutes to consider this inspired prayer, and to pray it for others, and even for ourselves. I believe it will be a remarkable blessing in the life of any person on whom God pours these things.
We all need God's blessings and His protection. His blessings are the things that He gives us each day. We do not deserve any of them, but He is faithful to give them to the just and the unjust. However, God has a particular blessing for those who are faithful to Him. Also, God's protection is the only wall around us that nothing can penetrate. When He makes us safe, we are completely safe in His hands.
What a blessing it is to have God's face to shine on us! When He smiles on us, we know we will see the sunshine of His love and care. When He is gracious to us, we receive more than we deserve. We are not able to work for these things, but they are such wonderful additions to our lives.
Finally, we all need God's favor. We need for Him to be favorable toward us and to give us favor in the eyes of other people. Above all we need His peace. God's peace is not just the absence of conflict. It is a tangible peace that only He can give. It is there for us, no matter what trials and pain may come.
This is my prayer for all of us today. May each of us be blessed in these remarkable ways, and give all of the glory to God.
