Vain is the Salvation of Men
We all have foes or enemies. Satan and his demons are our foes. Unfortunately, there may be some people who are fighting us for some reason, too. It is never pleasant to have to deal with those who wish to hurt us. However, if we realize what David came to understand it will make our struggle with them much easier. (Psalm 60:11) Think about your foes and take what David said to apply it to your situation.
We need to admit that we need God's help with our foes. Some people will not accept that fact. We can't fight in our own power and win. This is especially true for the devil and his forces of evil. However, it is very true of people, too. When we fight back, we just make things worse. Therefore, we must submit our battles to the Lord and allow Him to fight for us. We must realize that trusting in people is vain. It is vain for us to trust in ourselves or in any other human. Only God can bring complete and final victory by His love, power, and grace.
I pray that we will all trust in the Lord to put our foes into retreat and surrender under His mighty hand. Then, we can live in victory and not defeat or oppression.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 61-64.
