Revive Your Work in the Midst of the Years

All believers have our ups and downs spiritually. The same thing is true for churches. There will be times of flourishing growth, and there will be times of stagnation and decline. Most of the time when there is a down time, it is because of some sin or disobedience on the part of the believer or the church. Therefore, there needs to be a return a holy fear of the Lord, and sincere prayer for revival needs to be sent to the Lord. It is a prayer for mercy to follow His wrath. (Habakkuk 3:2) This is a great lesson from the prophet Habakkuk.

It is easy to allow our fear of the Lord to wane, so that we do not obey Him as we should. When we have less holy fear of God, we worship less, and we are less likely to do His will consistently, even if we still attend church services. It is then, we need to come to our senses and pray to the Lord that He would revive His work in us and in our church in the midst of the years. There must be a new vision and a new commitment to the Lord, a returning to our first love. When we cry out to Him, we ask for mercy to replace His anger and displeasure. When we pray like that in faith and humility, God will answer because He loves His children and His church. He wants His work in us to thrive, but He must punish us to get us back to the healthy fear of the Lord. I pray that you will join me in crying out to God for a great revival of His work in us and in His church in the midst of our years with Him. May we see a great revival very soon.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Zephaniah 1-3.
