Priorities and God's Provision

There is a direct connection between our priorities and how God provides for our needs. If we have the right priorities, and we do them each day, God promises to meet our needs. (Matthew 6:33) However, the opposite is also truth. If we fail to have the right priorities, or we fail to do His will, we will not have all of our needs met. God takes special care of His children who pay attention to His agenda.

If we want God's provision, we must put His kingdom and His righteousness first in our lives. We must be careful to give them the best of our time, energy, and commitment. We put God's kingdom first when we submit to Him as King of our lives, so that we follow His leadership in all things. We must find our purpose that God has for us and fulfill that purpose in His power. Also, we must put His righteousness first. That means that we learn His ways of doing things and live our lives according to those ways. Again, we must do it in His power. Then, if we have those two priorities every day, God will take care of our food, clothes, and other necessities in His wisdom and in His timing. That is His promise to us.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Matthew 7-10.
