Warning Unbelievers

We are the salt of the earth and the light of the world. That is what Jesus told us, as believers. We are to preserve the truth like salt, and we are to shine the light of truth to those in darkness. We have the same mission as Ezekiel, in a way. We have been called to warn those who do not know the Lord, so they will have a good chance to turn from their sins and trust the Lord. (Ezekiel 3:18) If we fail to do this, there are very serious consequences for us, too.

When God has us come into contact with a person who needs to know Him, it is up to us to reveal the truth to that person. If they are engaged in open sin, we are to warn them. If they do not believe God's Word, we are to show them His Word in a way they can understand. If we fail to warn them, and they die in their sins, God will require their blood at our hands. I am not sure of all that means, but clearly, it means He holds us responsible for their spiritual death to some degree. What a terrible situation for us and for them.

Many of us, as believers, keep our mouths shut when we are around those who are living in sin. We know what the Bible says, but we stay silent, because we are afraid, or we want to be polite. Please, remember, that person is headed toward an eternity in hell, which is the most horrific things that a person can experience. We can only help them, we can't hurt their situation by telling them the truth and warning them. However, if we commit the sin of silence, we become partly responsible for their eternal destination. Let's determine to warn them and not commit the sin of silence. Then, let's pray for them diligently. That is the least we can do.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 6-8.
