God's Deliverance
Many people have a great fear of man, but they do not fear and trust the Lord, as they should. We must be careful not to fear our leaders or our enemies. If we do, we could fail to do what God is telling us to do. His wrath is far worse than anything people can inflict on us. That is what happened to the people left in the land after the king of Babylon had taken over the Judah. They feared the king so much, they would not listen to God. (Jeremiah 42:11) We need to learn one vital truth from this verse.
Our rulers or our enemies may be very strong, but it is God who is with us to save us and to deliver us from their hand. We need not fear what man can do to us. God is on our side, if we are His children. We simply need to place ourselves in His care and walk with Him each day. So many people are afraid of North Korea, China, or Russia. Their fear causes them stress, and it could even cause them to flee to another country, like the Israelites wanted to go to Egypt for protection. If we do that, we are out of God's will, and we can no longer count on His deliverance. In fact, God may come against us Himself, because of our disobedience. Let's not take things in our own hands because of the fear of man. Let's trust the Lord to save us and to deliver us from those who would come against us.
