Can These Bones Live?
Ezekiel had a vision of a valley full of dry bones. It was a vision about the revival of Israel as a nation after they had been completely destroyed and scattered. God asked Ezekiel, "Can these bones live?" Ezekiel gave exactly the right answer, "O Lord God, You know. (Ezekiel 37:3,10) He knew that only God can bring bones back to life, and only God can bring revival. We need revival today in our churches, so that revival and awakening can come to our country.
God's command was for Ezekiel to prophesy to the bones. He told him to preach His Word to the bones. Then, the wind or breath came, which was the Spirit of God, and He brought life to the bones. The result was a great army. We need to preach to the dry bones today, and we need to pray for the Spirit to bring life and revival, so we can be a great army for the Lord once again, too.
We are in the midst of praying for 40 days for revival to come to our church and to our 2 sister churches. On October 19-21 we will prophesy to the bones. I pray that God will honor our prayers and our preaching, so that He sends the Spirit to bring life, even abundant life. Then, we can reach our communities as great armies of the Lord. Will you join me in praying and preparing for revival? I know if we will pray sincerely with repentance that God will answer our prayers, and these bones can live.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ezekiel 39-41.
