Pronouncing a Blessing on Someone

We hear a lot of negative talk and sarcasm which puts people down these days. I pray that is not how we speak to others.We need to pronounce blessings on them, instead of being negative.(Numbers 6:24-26) It is not that we are God and we can cause good things to happen in their lives. The purpose of giving a blessing is to remind people of what God wants to do for them and to pray that He will do that for them. Believe me, a lot of people we meet need a blessing pronounced on them like the priests gave to the Israelites.

"The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace."

We all need for the Lord to bless us and to take care of us. What a wonderful experience to have the face of God shine upon us and that He would be gracious to us. When God looks on us and gives us peace, we have a warmth that is beyond words. That is what God wants to do for His faithful children, and I pray He will do this for all of you right now, whatever you may be going through.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 10-12.
