Offer Only Your Best to the Lord

The Old Testament laws about the sacrifices show us a lot about what God expects for us even today. The people were never to offer any animals that were bruised, crushed, torn, or cut.(Leviticus 22:24) Only the best were good enough to give to the Lord. That is a great truth for all of us.

When we worship the Lord, we are to give God our best praise, and our best thanks. Praise is the sacrifice of our lips to God, and we are to do it with all of our hearts.(Hebrews 13:15) When we thank God it must be genuine. We must not give God less than He deserves.

When we give our tithes and offerings, we are not to give less than the best we can give. It is like giving a wounded animal to God, if we do not give a complete offering. Remember, we are not giving to the church or to missions, but to God.

When we serve the Lord, we are to serve Him with our best energy and attitude. He wants us to do all things as if we are doing them for Him. Our goal is to be faithful servants, doing our best for the Lord in all we do.

Then, God will receive our offerings to Him, instead of rejecting them as being unworthy of our Wonderful Heavenly Father.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 23-25.
