No Injustice in Judgment

God established right and wrong. We have His Word to show us what is righteous and what is unjust. Therefore, when it comes to judgment, there is to be no injustice.(Leviticus 19:15) This may seem simple, but there are many factors which can complicate justice.

As this verse says, "You shall not be partial to the poor." This is a temptation, since we feel sorry for those who are poor. We feel like they have suffered enough, so we want to bend justice for them. That is a sin.

The verse also says, "nor honor the person of the mighty." We can be blinded by a person who is rich and famous. We can be afraid of their power. However, it is always wrong to rule in an unjust way for a powerful person. That is a sin.

Instead, we are to always judge in righteousness. That means the judgment must be according to God's standard of right and wrong, not giving partiality to anyone. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. Judgment according to God's righteousness is the only correct way to judge anyone. That is what He expects all of the time.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Leviticus 20-22.
