Multitudes

A multitude is a huge number. In the ancient world it was basically more than 10,000 because that was the highest number they used most of the time. Acts 5:14 tells us that "multitudes" of men and women were being added to the Lord Jesus by putting their trust in Him as Lord and Savior. Why did that happen then? We need to consider this, so we can see multitudes saved today, as well.

In the book of Acts we have example after example of the believers going out into public and sharing the gospel, but we have the report also that they were personally sharing the gospel with everyone they met.(Acts 5:42) It is clear that they were focused on spreading the gospel first. It was their priority. They did other things, but seeing people saved was their focus. We must return to that same mindset if we are to see multitudes saved today.

What is your focus each day? Is it on sharing the gospel with others? If not, why not? We must be convinced that our day must start and end with our eyes on Jesus and on how we can make Him known to others in our family and to our friends and acquaintances. We must even be concerned for those we do not know yet. If not, we will never see multitudes saved in America like they are being saved in other parts of the world.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 6-9.
