Multiplying Disciples and Churches
The only way to reach our world for Christ is to multiply disciples and churches.(Act 6:7) The reason for this is very simple. People multiply. Therefore, if we only add disciples, we will never catch up to the population growth. We must make disciples, who make disciples, who make disciples in a multiplying movement, Then, the world can hear about Jesus.
This is the basis for the Great Commission of Jesus to us as His disciples. We not only make more disciples, but we teach them to make disciples as well. It becomes a huge chain bringing multitudes to Christ. The same is true for churches.(Acts 9:31) We need for churches to start new churches and multiply themselves. This is the best way to multiply believers, because every Christian should be participating in a church as he or she multiplies new disciples,
Please, pray with me that soon we will stop talking about who was added to our church, because we will be talking about how the disciples are multiplying so fast that we are having to start new church all of the time. Then, we will know we are faithful like the first believers in the early church.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Acts 10-12.
