King Jesus is Coming!
Daniel had several visions in which the Lord showed him future events. It is amazing to consider how the Holy Spirit can be so specific about things which were so unfamiliar in the Old Testament times. Daniel foresaw the Second Coming of Christ, and he recorded it for us in detail.(Daniel 7:13,14) Let's consider what he wrote about what he saw in these visions.
Daniel described Jesus as the "Son of Man." This title for Jesus shows that He was God, who became a man, so He could relate to us and die for us. It was His favorite title for Himself when He was on the earth 700 years later. The vision showed Jesus coming in the clouds, after going to the "Ancient of Days" to receive dominion. God, the Father, is the Eternal One, the Ancient of Days, and Jesus told us in the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19,20 that He was given "all authority in heaven and on earth." When Jesus comes He will reign over all of the peoples of the earth, just like Daniel saw in his vision. His kingdom is an eternal one which will never be destroyed. Jesus is the Lord, the King, forever.
Isn't it amazing that an Old Testament prophet could reveal these things to us from visions? It shows the plan of God and the power of God to show us His plan. Now, we have the choice to follow King Jesus, as our personal Lord and Savior, so that we will be citizens of His eternal kingdom in heaven or not. The wise thing to do is to submit to King Jesus, bow the knee in repentance from sins and in faith in Him as Lord, who died for us. Then, we are ready for His return and His reign, no matter when it may happen.
