Respecting Our Maker
When we encounter the serious troubles of life, it causes our minds and hearts to turn to our Maker. I am convinced from the Bible that even the most hardened Atheist or pagan considers his or her Maker in those times.(Isaiah 17:7) God shows us through trials that we are finite, and we could not have made ourselves. The universe did not just happen by chance.
It is at those times that we have the choice to respect God or not. It may be for a fleeting moment of lucidity, as we see reality, but we have that chance. Will we turn to the Lord, or will we be lord of our own lives? It is the very reason we exist. We must have the option to know God, our Maker, and to respectfully worship and love Him. Therefore, God comes to us in the storm and offers His peace to every person. He never changes that scenario, so we can experience the true joy of coming to the end of ourselves and knowing Him.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Isaiah 19-22.
