The Christ Life

Christianity is supernatural. It is not a philosophy or a religion. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ, the Lord of all. Paul gives his own testimony about his supernatural relationship with Christ in one verse, Galatians 2:20. However, this is not just what happened in Paul's life. It happens in everyone who comes to know the Lord Jesus Christ.

For new life in Christ to begin there must be a death. We are crucified with Christ, so that we are no longer who we were before we met Him. That old person is dead. Now, we have new life, because Christ lives in us. He is our life. His Spirit directs us and empowers us. This supernatural transaction is essential for salvation. Without Christ living in us there is no salvation, and He only comes in where He is Lord.

Then, we live the rest of our lives for eternity by trusting Him in everything. This begins immediately, so we are still in the flesh, but we do not live according to the flesh. We live for Him who loved us and gave Himself for us. We are saved from our sins by the grace of God once we truly trust Christ in faith, but we live every day in the same way. Each day is a gift from God, and He will give us the direction and power for that day, as we trust Him in everything.

Sounds pretty amazing, doesn't it? Well, it is. It is supernatural to have God living in us and to be able to walk through life with Christ directing us and empowering us. That is God's design for every believer. I hope you are experiencing life in Christ today. If not, let me know how I can help.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Galatians 5-6 and Ephesians 1-2.
