The Valley of Decision
The prophet Joel depicts the coming of the enemies from the north against God's people as a great swarm of locusts that devour everything. His terms are graphic as he describes the destruction. However, he is very quick to point out that if the people decide to return to the Lord, He could avert this disaster and bless them abundantly instead of destroying them. It was their decision to make.(Joel 3:14)
Are you in the valley of decision today? Yes, life is constantly presenting us one choice after another upon which we have to decide. I am not so much referring to the small everyday decisions of life. Are you facing a huge decision that requires you to trust the Lord and follow His will by faith? Those are the decisions that direct our lives either to destruction or to blessing. Please, consider the message of God's Word through Joel, and as you come to the valley of decision, fast and pray. Seek His face and follow Him. Then, the day of the Lord will be a day of rejoicing for you, instead of a day of darkness.
