The Calling

Micah was called by God to be a prophet to deliver His Word to Israel and to Judah. He did not ask for the     job, but I am sure he accepted it as God's will for his life like all of the other Prophets in the Old Testament did. The same is true for every person God calls to be one of His servants to deliver His Word. In each case God empowers the person with His Spirit, so that His Word can be declared in power and in truth.(Micah 3:8)

People tend to embrace sin. They do not want to hear that God hates sin, and that He will punish them, if they do not repent of their sins and turn to Him in faith. People want to hear about the love of God. Yes, God is love, but we can't walk with Him in love unless we are in agreement that Jesus is Lord, and His Word is truth. Therefore, we have to see that sin is the problem that separates us from the love of God, until we trust Jesus as Lord and walk with Him.

Therefore, please don't "shoot the messenger." Remember, any messenger sent from God is coming in love to bring a critical message from the Lord, even if it is unpleasant or hard to swallow. Listen to the message given in the power of the Spirit and do what the Spirit tells you to do. Don't rationalize. Don't do what everone else is doing. Realize that joy and peace come from being right with God. That is why we say that the Bible is God's love letter to all of us. He longs for us, but He is waiting for us to decide we love Him and trust Him, so we can have a love relationship with Him.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Micah 5-7.
