Wisdom and Sexual Immorality
God's wisdom leads us to stay as far away as we can from all types of sexual immorality. It is significant that the book of Proverbs has an extended passage on the destruction that comes from giving in to sexual temptations.(Proverbs 7:4,5) Take some time to read Proverbs 5-7 if you haven't done that in a while.
Our society and our world is eaten up with every form of sexual immorality. It is Satan's way of luring people to immediate gratification of the flesh. It breaks relationships, destroys marriages, leads to sexual addictions of all types, and it perverts the truth of God. God always intended for sexual relations to be between a husband and wife, as a way of knowing one another and expressing the most intimate, committed love. Yes, it leads to having children, but isn't that significant, too. God wants children to come into a family with committed, loving parents to raise them in God's wisdom.
Flee sexual immorality wherever you find it. Reject it and replace it with the pure thoughts that lead to life and godly fulfillment. Be an example to others around you, and show them the way of wisdom. Do not accept the world's standards, because they are against God's wisdom. Then, you can and will know the real joys of life in God's way.
