Rejecting Pride
If reading the book of Proverbs teaches us anything, we should be convinced that we should reject pride. Pride leads to destruction.(Proverbs 16:18,19) Humility is the way of the Lord, but pride is the way of this world. Please, do not let Satan lead you to embrace pride.
Think of Jesus, Himself. He was the picture of humility.(Philippians 2:5-11) His death on the cross was the most humble act in history. It was completely unselfish, and His desire was to lower Himself, so we could be saved from our sins. God made sure Jesus would receive His reward for His humility.
Many people want to be proud and rich. They long to divide the spoil with the proud. They think that is the glamorous life. However, it leads to death, not life. It is much better to live among the lowly and allow God to bless us. It will be forever better than pride's results.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Proverbs 17-19.
