Unity
There is a lot to be said for unity. God loves unity between believers. He wants us to experience the same unity that He has had with the Father forever.(John 17) Unity is a sign to the world that Jesus is Lord, and we are His disciples. We ought to strive for unity in the Spirit all of the time.
Unity can't come when we follow our own agendas and our own desires. Selfishness makes unity impossible. We will never fully experience unity until we all get on His agenda. God's way is the best. Once we realize that, it should be easy to give up on our own way and go His way. Then, we can be together in our purpose and actions.
Think of how division has brought harm to our world, our families, and even to our minds. The world has suffered through war after war, because of divisions between people. Marriages and families have been separated because people can't agree with each other. When we have a double-mind our lives are unstable, and we fail to accomplish what we ought to accomplish. Division destroys, while unity edifies.
Tomorrow, I intend to read John 12-15
