Consistency
Consistency is a characteristic of God, and it is a great character quality for us, as well. God is always holy. He never sins, and He always does the right thing. He is always love, so He always acts in grace. God never fails, whatever He starts to do, He finishes it well. See what I mean. We all could use a good dose of consistency.
There are a lot of folks who want to do good in spurts. They eat right in spurts, and they exercise in spurts. They really make an effort to stay away from being angry for a couple of weeks, and then, they lose it. They show love to their spouse or family for a few weeks, but then, they go back to being selfish, pursuing their own pleasures. Inconsistency is the result of having a double mind. We can't decide to do the right thing all the time, if we are double minded. Our mind is divided, so sometimes, the wrong wins out.
God wants us to repent of inconsistency. He wants us to decide once and for all to set our minds on what is right, good, and holy, so we do it every time. We need to get off of the roller coaster of life. God has a plan for us, and His plan is being true to Him in the power of His Spirit 24/7. It is a fantastic way to live! It isn't boring at all, because it is always a joy to live in the favor of God consistently.
