God Strikes and Heals
My verse for today is Isaiah 19:22. It refers to the country of Egypt, but the principle applies to all countries and people. God strikes us when we sin. Punishment is designed to eliminate wrong behavior or sin. Then, He will heal, if we return to Him.
I am praying that the USA will learn this lesson. We need to return to God. The word used in this verse is to "entreat." That simply means to show Him our hearts are set on Him and to cry out to Him for His help. He is ready to heal, but He is looking at our hearts. Are we selfish, or do we really want the Lord and His will?
The same is true for individuals. We must not be selfish and proud. That is how Egypt was in the past. That is what brought about God's punishment. However, humility is the key. Turn to the Lord in humility, and He will lift you up. Entreat the Lord to show you His way, and He can and will bring healing.
