Cooperation

One of Satan's most effective strategies to thwart the growth of the Kingdom of God is to lead believers to work against each other, instead of working together. Just think of what could be done to bring the world to Christ if all Christians would love each other and cooperate to tell people about Jesus, even if they don't agree on everything. We must not allow Satan to be effective in keeping us from having cooperation among Christians in a church or in a community or in the world.

I like how Henry Blackaby says it. He says that God means for believers to be "interdependent." That is the opposite of independent or separate. It is the essence of coming together so we can depend on each one to contribute our strengths to the task. It is team work for Christ. We can do it if we get over the competition and cooperate.

Think about it this way. There are all kinds of people in the world, so we need all kinds of churches to reach them and to minister to them. Some people will be drawn to a big church, while others like a small church. Some like one kind of music, while others have another preference. Some like to be still, but some like to be active. I think you see what I mean. Therefore, we need all of the churches who believe and preach Jesus is Lord and believe the Bible is God's Word to cooperate to reach all of the people. Believe me, there are plenty of people for every church, but we have got to get out into the fields and reach them.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Hebrews 7-9.
