Prayer

Prayer ought to be as natural as breathing for a Christian. We should not have to think about it to enter into a conversation with our Lord and Savior. We are on a first name basis, after all. He even knows our every thought and the number of hairs on our heads. He loves us so much that He died for us.

Why do people not like to pray? Why is prayer hard? What is the obstacle to sincere prayer? These questions are right at the heart of being a Christian. Christianity is a relationship with Jesus. (John 10) Prayer comes from the heart, and we pour it out to the One who saved us. If He takes away our sins, doesn't He care for our every need? I think so.

We should talk to Jesus like we would speak to our best friend, if he was the king of the universe. Yes, we are respectful, but comfortable. We know He has the power to do anything, so we approach Him humbly and in love. Prayer is a delight for those in love with Jesus. It is essential for those trying to do His will. Let's enjoy prayer.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Hosea 13-14 and Joel 1-2.
