Surrendering to Jesus as Lord

This morning we were privileged to have baptism for four people who were following Jesus as Lord of their lives. Their act of being baptized was one way to confess Him as Lord of their lives before other people.(Matthew 10:32,33) They were showing that they had put their faith or trust in Him. It was a joy to baptize them. We had two men, a teenager, and a boy.

After the service I spoke to another person who was having a struggle. This person has confessed Jesus as Lord, but he is having a problem surrendering his entire life to Him. That is part of having faith. We begin to trust Him, not ourselves. I pray that this man finds the will to surrender to Jesus. It is the way to the abundant life.

The Bible say that we are saved by grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8,9) However, it says that we are to walk each day in the same way we received Christ, by grace through faith. We admit we can't live right in our own power and intellect, so we put our trust in Jesus to lead us and empower us each day. That is how we work out our salvation here in this world before we go to heaven

Tomorrow, I intend to read Psalms 109-111.
