Making Connection

Life is all about relationships. The contemporary term is making connection. I think the reason people like using that word is that so many people are related to other people in various ways, but they are not really connected in a meaningful way. People long for connection in life. We want to feel like we are not alone, but we have someone else who really cares.

The main connection is with God. Life without being connected to God is missing the most important element. It is empty and lacks meaning. The great thing is that God wants to connect with us. He is waiting. It is up to us to reach out to Him. He has been reaching out to us for a long time. He always takes the first step. We must embrace Him as Lord, and then, there can be a vital connection that changes our lives for the better.

Then, there are our connections with other people. We often are too busy to share our feelings and our values with others. We almost never feel comfortable sharing our fears. However, that is what is necessary for a real connection to take place. We have to be really vulnerable and know that the other person will care enough to love us and try to understand. That is what God intends for Christian friendship to be. That is real fellowship. It is connection.

If you are not connected, you life will lack power and purpose. However, with connection comes meaning and joy. How are your connections? What would it take to make them better? What will have to happen to make you open up to others who love you? Please, don't let anything cause you to miss making the connections of your life.

Tomorrow, I intend to read Numbers 5-6 and Mark 4:1-20.
