God Reveals His Thoughts to Us

 In order to have a close relationship with another person, we have to reveal our thoughts to them, and they have to reveal their thoughts to us. We have to be transparent enough to show each other how we think and why we think the way we do. Many people are not willing to be that open with others. They guard their thoughts, and they hold themselves back for fear of being rejected. That is the risk we have to take to really have close friends and have good relationships.

The Lord knows this because He made us in His image. He knows that we have to know His thoughts to really know Him, so He reveals His thoughts to us. (Amos 4:13) "For the Lord is the One who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals His thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The Lord God of Heaven's Armies is His name." This is an amazing blessing which we all need to receive from God.

Just take a minute to consider that the Creator of the universe, the one who shaped the mountains and stirs the winds, reveals His thoughts to us. He is all-wise and all-powerful, so that He can do anything except the wrong things. He doesn't want to keep that wisdom and knowledge to Himself. He wants us to know Him, so He opens His mind to us. We are very foolish if we don't go to the Lord and see what He had revealed and what He is revealing to us right now. It would be like rejecting the advice of the best doctor when we are sick and dying.

God has revealed His thoughts in the Bible. That is why we should read the whole Bible from beginning to end. We should read it to understand it, and to apply what God shows us through His Word. It is not just an academic exercise, so we can say we read the Bible. It is to get to know the One True God the best we can. It is so we can live as He designed us to live. This is also why we pray. We are talking with God about our life and the lives of others, so we can know His thoughts and His will, not so we can get what we want. If we will listen, He will show us His thoughts and direct us as our Good Father.
