Getting Angry with God
Most of the problems we have in life come from our sins and poor decisions. We can try to blame our troubles on other people, but that is just because we don't want to accept the blame ourselves. When we make mistakes and when we sin, we need to own up to it and confess our sins. If we don't learn from our sins, we will just make things worse and worse. The worst thing we can do is to blame God for the bad things that happen to us and to get angry with Him.
The Bible makes this point for us. This verse is God trying to help all of us. (Proverbs 19:3) "People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord." God is an easy target for our anger. We think He ought to cover for us when we sin and still cause everything to be OK. We think that He should do that because He is our Loving Father. However, that thinking is very incorrectly. Let me explain a little.
Foolishness is living like there is no God. It is either ignoring God or deciding not to believe in Him. Most people do not choose to trust God and to accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. That is the greatest act of foolishness anyone can commit. Jesus died and arose to pay for our sins, so we can have an abundant life by living in His power and His will. It is a given that anyone who doesn't trust the Lord is going to ruin their life. Then, they may be angry at God and claim He is being mean to them, but He proved His love and care by the Cross once and for all.
Then, for those who do trust Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we can still act foolishly. We can fail to pray about the decisions of life and to wait on the Lord to show us His will and His way. Then, when we don't go to the right college or get the right job, our life doesn't go well. When we marry the wrong person, it really has a terrible effect on us. When we try to do everything in our own intellect and power with out depending on God, we are defeated before we even get started. All the while God is blessing us in various ways and waiting for us to look to Him, so we have no reason to be angry at God.
