Only with God's Help
Some of us are not willing to take risks. We only want to do what we are sure we can do in our own strength and wisdom. Then, we wonder why we do not see God doing things in our lives. The reason we don't see God working is that we are to live by faith in God. If we do not step out on faith to do the things God tells us to do, we won't see Him work. We have to believe what He tells us and go ahead and attempt things that are beyond our ability.
Nehemiah and the people in Jerusalem trusted God to help them build the wall of Jerusalem. (Nehemiah 6:15,16) So on October 2 the wall was finished - just fifty-two days after they had begun. When the enemies and the surrounding nations heard about it, they were frightened and humiliated. They realized that this work had been done with the help of God. That was God's way of revealing Himself to the people around Jerusalem. He does the same kind of things today, if we will just step out in faith.
There are a lot of people around us who do not believe in God, and they haven't put their trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Of course, we need to share the Gospel with them, so they know how to trust Christ. Without knowing the Gospel, they can't trust Jesus as they should. However, another way to bring them to God is to allow the Lord to work through us and our churches to do things that can only be done with God's help. When they see that, they are seeing evidence of God that they can't deny.
So we, as Christians, need to yield ourselves to God and tell Him that we are willing to trust Him and take risks, so that we and others can see Him work in wondrous ways. Then, we have that as a testimony we can share for years to come to show that God exists. Also, when we trust God to lead us to share the Gospel with others, and we see people saved who were very far from God. We have those examples of what can be done with God's help. Then, others will see that they are not beyond God's ability to forgive their sins and give them eternal life through trusting Jesus.
