The Lamb will Overcome Them

As we have been seeing, Jesus is depicted as the "Lamb" in the book of Revelation. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. He was the perfect sacrifice for all of the sins of the world, and He paid for our sins with His precious blood. Now we, as Christians, overcome our adversaries by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. In today's reading we see another aspect of the Lamb, as He is victorious over the Antichrist and His allies.

At the end of the Tribulation time the Antichrist will gather a huge army and march upon Jerusalem and all of the believers there. (Revelation 17:14) They will make war with the Lamb, and He will overcome them, for He is Lord of lords and King of kings  Those who come with Him to win this victory are called chosen and faithful. That is all of us believers who return with Jesus. So, what does this show us about the Lamb that will help us today.

Jesus is involved in the affairs of this world. When He needs to intervene to bring an end to strife and conflict, He is very capable of doing just that. He comes to fight against people and their alliances. They may think they are strong, but He is stronger. He is Lord of lords and King of kings. No earthly authority can ever overrule or overcome Jesus. That should give us great comfort and hope, as we live in this dark world that is opposed to Jesus and to us.

We are special to the Lamb of God. We are His chosen ones. We are the ones faithful to Him to the end. We are the ones who will accompany Jesus when He comes back to reign on this earth for 1,000 years. That will be a great privilege and responsibility. If Jesus is going to use us in that way in the Millennium, then He can and will use us here, if we will be fully submitted to Him and allow Him to be Lord of our lives. Therefore, the Lamb will overcome His enemies, and we will overcome in His power and authority, too.
