Looking on Jesus Whom they Pierced

One of the worst things we can do is to kill another person. God strongly condemns taking the life of another human being made in the image of God, except in cases of war and self defense. However, I am sure it would be a horrible feeling, no matter the circumstances.  Then, if we took the life of an innocent person, it would really be a terrible act. We would surely be called into account by the Lord for such an action.

One day God will gather His people back to the Holy Land and Jerusalem, like they are now, or even more. Then Jesus will Rapture His church. The Jews will see what is happening and turn to the Lord in repentance and faith. (Zechariah 12:10) Zechariah has told us that one day the Lord will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication. Then they will look on Him whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn. Can you picture that day?

I am not sure exactly how this will happen, but it seems to be saying that when Jesus comes in the sky to gather all the believers, dead and alive, to take us to heaven, the Jews will get a glimpse of Jesus and realize He was the Lord that they put to death by calling for His death by the Roman executioners. When they see Jesus, and they realize this, they will mourn greatly for their terrible sin, and God will save them by His Spirit of grace as they pray to Him. Romans tells us that all Israel will be saved at that time, all the Jews who are alive.

They will feel badly for having a part in the killing of the innocent Lamb of God. This will bring them to trust Him by grace through faith and be saved. The same thing should happen to all of us, too. We are the ones who killed Jesus, too. It was our sins that caused the Father to have to send Jesus to shed His blood and die for us, so we could be saved. The question is, "Will we mourn over our sins and Jesus's death, so we will be saved?" It is up to each one of us to behold Jesus and turn to Him in repentance for our sins. I pray we will all do what the Jews will do one day before it is too late for us.
