The Lord`s Day in Japan
We had a great time on Sunday worshiping the Lord and having fellowship with other believers. It was much different from the United States, because there are no large churches in the area, and in fact, there are only a few small churches. Therefore, we gathered at Jeff and Lori`s home with Hank and Linda Lee to have our worship in a house church format. It was a lot more like the book of Acts when the church was small, but growing.
We had a 3 year old, a nursing mother, and 6 other adults. Everyone, except Avenly, contributed to the service. We shared a thanksgiving and then, we shared an insight God had given us through the previous week. We read I Peter 1:13-24 by alternately reading the verses, and then, we considered it silently for a few minutes before having a discussion of the passage. Finally, we ended with a time of prayer, singing a song, and sharing a meal. I am sure that each of us heard from God, and we had a chance to express our love for Jesus and our faith in Him. That is really what worship is all about whether there are 10 or 1,000 in attendance. I pray that every person and every church would learn the real essence of worship.
Tomorrow, I intend to read Ecclesiastes 10-12 and Galatians 1.
