Complete in Christ
It seems to me that most people feel inadequate to face all of the needs in their lives. They feel incomplete in various areas, so that they struggle to know what to do and how to do what needs to be done. I am convinced that this is not God's will for any person. He wants every person to know Christ and to have all that is needed to live the abundant life He has designed for us.
That is Pauls' point in his letter to the Christians in Colossae. (Colossians 1:28) Paul was being used by God to proclaim Jesus Christ. He was admonishing and teaching every person he could with all wisdom, so that all of them could be presented complete in Christ. See what I mean? Let's explore what it means to be complete in Christ.
Without going into an exhaustive study right here two Bible passages come to my mind. We need to remember II Timothy 3:16-17. God is very clear in this passage that He has inspired the Bible for us so that we have all of the teaching, reproof, correction, and instruction we need. As we learn the Bible, we receive all the wisdom we need to be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Also, James 1:2-4 admonishes us to rejoice when we have trials, knowing that the testing of our faith produces patience or perseverance for us. Then, as we do this and allow patience to have its perfect work in us, we become mature and complete, lacking nothing. Therefore, becoming complete in Christ is a combination of having God's wisdom and letting His Spirit work in us. We can all do this.
