Careful Living
We tell people to be careful all of the time for a lot of reasons. There are signs in stores that warn us to be careful because of a wet spot. We have all kinds of road signs that tell us to be careful. We understand all of those admonitions, but would we understand it if someone told us to be careful how we live? That warning is a little more open to interpretation.
God gave us a warning about how to live, and He explained it for us, so we won't misunderstand it. (Ephesians 5:15-16) God told us to be careful how we walk or live. We must not live as unwise people, but as wise. We must be taking care to make the most of our time, because the days are evil. Let's see God's kind of careful living.
Being wise can take on a lot of different meanings until we realize that all real wisdom comes from God. We have to make sure that what we call wisdom has come from His Word or from knowing Him. Once we do that we know that being careful is seeing things as God would see them and being careful to do what He would do in every situation.
Also, we must be careful to make the most of our time, since we are not able to get any more once we use what we are given. Once a day is gone, we can never get it back. If we wasted our time, we can never go back and do over that time. This is especially true because of all of the evil going on around us. If we get off track and follow the world, the flesh, or the devil, we are living in opposition to God. That is the most dangerous way that anyone can live.
