No More Curse

We hear people talking about putting a curse on another person or having a curse put on themselves. It really sounds ominous to think that someone could cause something terrible to happen by some supernatural power. The main thing to consider is who is making the curse. When God curses someone or something, it is very serious.

John gave us a glimpse into heaven in Revelation 21 and 22. Let's focus on one thing He was told. (Revelation 22:3,4) In our eternal existence in heaven, as Christians, there will no longer be a curse upon anything. For the throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and His servants will worship Him. And they will see His face, and His name will be written on their foreheads. We should look forward to this time with great anticipation.

When Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, God pronounced a curse on the serpent and on the ground. The serpent was cursed to crawl on his belly forever, and he would be defeated by the seed of the woman, who is Jesus. When Jesus died and rose again, Satan was defeated and destined to the Lake of fire. He will never get close to heaven again.

The ground was cursed because of Adam's sin. That meant that the curse of sin was on everything in the universe. That is why our bodies wear out and have diseases. It is why natural disasters happen all over the globe. Everything God made was cursed to not work exactly as He designed it to work. However, in heaven everything will be perfect. It will work as God designed, and our existence will not be marred by anything failing to do God's will in His way. What a joy!
