Explaining and Testifying about Jesus

There are so many people in the world today, who are in the dark. They do not know the Bible, and many of them have never known a committed Christian. They do not know the truth about Jesus, because they have never been told. They have never heard anyone explain Jesus and give personal testimony about Him.

When Paul finally arrived in Rome, he stayed in his own apartment, but he had a Roman guard with him all the time. He was permitted to have guests, so he invited the Jews to come hear him share his beliefs. (Acts 28:23) So a time was set, and on that day a large number of people came to Paul's lodging. He explained and testified about the Kingdom of God and tried to persuade them about Jesus from the Scriptures. Using the law of Moses and the books of the prophets, he spoke to them from morning until evening. Now, we have the New Testament books to explain, too.

I wonder how many believers today could do what Paul did for the Jews in Rome? It is so important for every believer to study God's Word to the point, where we can handle it rightly to show others the truth of Jesus and the Good News of salvation through Him. Yes, it takes time, but it is our commission from God.

Also, we all have the ability to testify about how Jesus saved us. We can share what we heard from the Holy Spirit when we heard the Word of God and how we turned from sin to salvation in Christ. That personal experience is powerful. Using both explanation and testimony, we can let God use us to persuade people to trust Jesus and then do the same for others.
