Well Done!

There are some things that bring us much satisfaction. This is true when we accomplish a task, and we know that we were able to do it well, even if no one else knows what we did. It is even more satisfying when someone notices our accomplishment and compliments us on it. This is really true when God is the one who notices and commends us.

Jesus told a parable about a master giving money to his servant to invest. When the master returned and called for an accounting, he found his servant had doubled the money. (Matthew 25:21) The master was full of praise. He said, "Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let's celebrate together." I pray that will be reflective of what we have happen to us, as believers.

God gives every believer, gifts and abilities from the Holy Spirit. We are all different, even if we have the same types of gifts. God knows just how much he has gifted us, and He even shows us how to use those gifts if we ask Him. Then, we are responsible to do what He says, using our gifts. The goal is to be a profitable servant.

When we bear fruit in our life and in the lives of others, God is very pleased. He is full of praise. It doesn't have to be fantastic results, but we make an impact on others to draw them to the Lord and to minister to them, in proportion to our gifts. When God sees this He will give us more to do, because of our faithfulness. This is the highest honor anyone can ever receive, to be celebrated by our Lord and Savior, who gave His all for us.
