The Ones for whom God Works

God is actively working in our lives and around us all of the time. However, we can still get very impatient with God. We can want our way and want it right now.. Just think about how disrespectful that is to God. He wants us to have the best, but we are not willing to wait for Him to give us His best, so we plow ahead without Him.

Isaiah saw this truth. (Isaiah 64:4) He told us that since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like our God, who works for those who wait for Him. There is the key. God works for those who wait for Him. I wonder how well we are doing in that area?

Waiting on God is not just waiting. When we wait on God, we are in anticipation of what He is going to do. We are expecting great things, but we realize that He will give them in His timing and in His way. That helps us with our patience. It helps us remain steady on the path He has for us in life.

Also, waiting on God includes the element of hope. When we are waiting on God we are hoping for what we have not yet seen. Christian hope is the confident assurance of what we cannot see yet. Since we know the Lord, and we know He is a good Father, we can have confident hope that our future will be good for us, because it is in His hands. Therefore, let's gladly wait on the Lord and watch Him work for us.
