Created to Cling to God

We all have to find our purpose in life. None of us created ourselves. We are all here by the act of God to create people and to allow people to have children. It is God to whom we should look for our purpose. He is the one who formed us, and we should depend on Him to show us everything we need to know about how to live and what to do.

God told Jeremiah this fact. (Jeremiah 13:11) He told the people that as a loincloth clings to a man's waist, so I created Judah and Israel to cling to Me. They were to be My people, My pride, My glory - an honor to My name. But they would not listen to me. This is true for every person who is saved and knows the Lord Jesus in a personal way today.

We need the Lord, every second, every minute of every hour of every day. The best thing we can do is to cling to Him in prayer, to cling to His Word, the Bible, and to cling to Him by spending time in His presence listening to what He has to say to us. If we do anything less, we will fail to accomplish God's will for us.

Remember, we are to be His people to show Him to other people. Our lives are to bring Him pride and glory, not shame. Our actions and words should bring honor to His name. However, if we fail to cling to Him and listen to Him, we will be a dishonor to Him, which is the worst thing we can do with our lives.
