My Servant will be Successful

Wouldn't it be great for God to call you His servant? That is exactly how He refers to Jesus in the final chapters of Isaiah. God revealed to His prophet what would happen to Jesus hundreds of years later.  Much of the prophesy refers to the death of Jesus for our sins. That was His greatest act of service for the Father and for us. The Lord told Isaiah to tell us that His Servant would be successful.  (Isaiah 52:13-14) He would be raised and lifted up which is being crucified, and He would be greatly exalted in the resurrection and ascension.  In the process Jesus' appearance was so disfigured that He did not look like a man. His form did not even look human after being beaten so badly and nailed to the cross. I believe there is a lesson for us here.

If we are to be great servants of God we must be willing to suffer to accomplish His purpose. There are times when suffering is the only thing that will bring about His will. If Jesus, the holy Son of God, had to be disfigured to serve the Father, why would we be exempt? However,  like Jesus, if we suffer for the Lord, we will be exalted, too. Therefore,  any pain we experience will be worth it, when we get to heaven and receive our reward. Let's determine to be worthy to be called servants of God, no matter what He calls us to do.
